Yale raises cylinder standards

Lock manufacturer ASSA ABLOY has launched a new easy to fit British Standard rim cylinder under the Yale brand.

Yale raises cylinder standards

The Yale X5 Kitemarked rim cylinder is designed for use with all Yale nightlatches and has been tested to BS EN1303:2005.

Anti-pick and anti-drill, the new cylinder has over 100,000 combinations, providing the highest level of security and satisfying Kitemark standards. The X5 cylinder also has hardened steel pins and ball bearings to protect the lock.

The X5 can be used to replace existing cylinders that do not meet current British Standards.

Dave Herbert, Yale group product manager, says: “The spring house moving season often boosts sales of cylinders, as new homeowners look to replace their locks on new homes. The X5 is quick and easy to install making it ideal for these types of security upgrades.”

Supplied boxed and pre-packed, the X5 rim cylinder is available in polished brass, polished chrome and stain chrome. It has a RRP of £19.99.
