XL Joinery has shown its support for Essex-based football club, Risden Wood Youth FC, with a generous donation of £1,000.
Consisting of 16 teams of boys and girls over 10 age groups within the under 9’s and under 16’s teams, the team play in the Mid Herts Rural Minors League based in Harlow, Essex. XL Joinery’s recent donation will go towards sponsoring the Under 16’s Warriors team for the upcoming 2019 – 2020 season. The donated sum will provide a full new home strip and waterproof jacket for the 17 players in the squad.
There is a strong XL Joinery connection to the club as the son of the company’s Area Sales Manager, Simon Lee, currently plays for The Warriors. Kicking off the season with a strong start, The Warriors sit within the higher level of Division 2, after gaining four points from just their first three games.
Charlie Sykes, Marketing Coordinator from XL Joinery, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been able to support The Warriors squad at Risden Wood Youth Football Club. We are always looking for new ways in which we can offer our support, and Simon’s connection to the team seemed like a natural fit. We look forward to seeing the team progress over the season!”
Graham Dowers, Chairman of Risden Wood Youth Football Club, commented: “We’re delighted with the donation from XL Joinery. Their contribution has been a huge support to the facilities, and the waterproof jackets will definitely come in use over the winter season!”
