Wolseley win British Gas contract

Wolseley have won a major new contract to supply plumbing and heating products to British Gas

Wolseley win British Gas contract

While Wolseley have supplied British Gas for some years, this contract follows a rigorous tendering exercise, which has seen British Gas reduce the number of its suppliers from three to two. The new contract will see Wolseley moving away from distributing to British Gas customers through its Plumb Center branch network, to a more direct approach, supplying from Wolseley’s distribution centres.

As a consequence, Wolseley will gain a significant amount of additional work from British Gas, as part of the new, multi-million pound deal.

Plumb Center md Steve Ashmore said: “Wolseley has demonstrated flexibility in responding to customer needs by re-organising the way in which it does business with British Gas. This will result in the highest possible levels of service for British Gas customers.

“Our network of 550 Plumb Centers will continue to meet British Gas’ emergency requirements, while now having greater capacity to serve our local customer base.”

As market leader, Plumb Center has further ambitious plans for the business, including the establishment of ‘supersites’, which will see the selective introduction of complementary Wolseley businesses, such as Brandon Hire, within Plumb Center premises.
