On Wednesday 15th July winners of Hopkins Concrete’s F1 Grand-Prix competition, launched at their Bridgwater one year anniversary event and trade expo, took to the track at Nigel Mansell’s Raceway.
The lineup on the grid consisted of Mark Bale (CRS Watchet), Nathan Janes (Nathan Janes Groundworks), Rob Allen (Hopkins Concrete), Andrew Gartell (Gartell & Son), Nick Jean (Hopkins Concrete), Luke Organ (Wollens Cannington), Shane David (David Civil Engineering), Laura Cornick (Chalk & Ward PR), Nick Morgan (Wollens Cannington), Paul Lapham (Hopkins Concrete), Pete Bishop (Chard Building Supplies) and Rob Bishop (David Civil Engineering).
After 22 laps it was Nick Morgan, from Wollens Cannington, who lapped some of the field and drove home to take the top step of the podium.
Rob Allen, Hopkins director, says: “Firstly, congratulations Nick on your great win. You had some tough competition, but it was lucky for you that I was injured on the day. It was fantastic to welcome some well-known faces, as well as new ones to our one-year anniversary celebration last month and the Raceway event was a great way to build on these relationships.”
