Wickes warehouse destroyed by fire

A fire has destroyed a DIY store belonging to Wickes, the DIY business of builders merchants Travis Perkins.
According to a report from the London Fire Brigade, 12 fire engines and around 60 firefighters attended the fire at a retail park off High Road, Chadwell Heath.

The alarm was raised just after 2.30am on Monday morning. It took the fire brigade more than three hours to get the blaze under control.

No one was hurt in the incident and the cause is now the subject of an investigation.
