Wayne Hemingway MBE, creator of the Red or Dead fashion brand is to speak at this year’s Annual Bathroom Conference ‘Sustainable Solutions – Awareness, Engagement & Action’ on October 14 at The Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club in Warwickshire.
After selling the fashion brand Wayne set up HemingwayDesign, specialising in affordable and social design. The company has worked on numerous groundbreaking projects including the multi award winning Staiths South Bank – an 800-property project on Tyneside for Taylor Wimpey Homes.
He said: “At HemingwayDesign we are always seeking out sustainable solutions and although I’m not a bathroom expert, I do like to have a wash occasionally and do know a bit about design.
“I’m keen to show the bathroom industry that sustainability has many faces and none of them are boring, staid or even unaffordable. Sustainable projects are crying out for complimentary bathroom concepts.
“Sustainable design should be accessible, affordable and enjoyable, creating individuality whilst not having a negative impact environmentally. We should be able to do that with bathrooms too. I’m delighted that the bathroom industry is seriously interested in sustainability.”
