The generous staff cycled 60 miles from Manchester’s Old Trafford football ground to the South Promenade in Blackpool to raise money for the Hospice that has benefited so many people within the Group’s local community.

Over 5500 cyclist joined the event which raises money for charities throughout the UK. The W. Howard Group’s team decided to support the Wigan and Leigh Hospice as one of its fundraising activities for its nominated charity of the year.

As a local hospice, it provides specialist care for over 1,000 local people every year who are at the end of their life and was selected by staff to benefit from various charity events that the business organises each year.

W.Howard’s Group chief executive, Jonathan Grant said: “The team originally set out to raise £1400 for this cause, so to almost double that amount is a real testament to their fundraising and cycling efforts.

“The ride is no stroll in the park and we are very proud of our staff who have taken on the challenge to support this important local charity.”
