Viessmann video highlights unsung trade heroes

Created by heating systems manufacturer Viessmann the heart-warming 3 minute film showcases the charitable efforts of a number of skilled heating engineers who give up their time for free on evenings and weekends, sometimes travelling long distances, to work on community projects. In the video, they are interviewed while installing a new heating system at Clayton Rugby League Football Club in Bradford, West Yorkshire. This was part of a wider ‘Community Kindness’ renovation initiative sponsored by Viessmann and organised by the Pulse 1 and Pulse 2 radio stations.

“Many tradespeople are self-employed and work alone,” said Darren McMahon, marketing director at Viessmann. “When they come together to volunteer like this, they get to be part of a close-knit team and have fun, as well as working hard and doing a lot of good for a local community. It’s a side of the trade that many people may not know about.

“If you want to give something back by doing something you’re good at, with like-minded people, then volunteering is well worth considering. Many people are put off by what they have to give up to volunteer, such as their time. The truth is that you get much more out of it, so I’d urge people not to let such concerns put them off from getting involved” concludes McMahon.

Viessmann administers the Heat for Good initiative, which uses the resources of heating industry suppliers and installers as a force for good, providing new heating and hot water systems to small charities and community enterprises.
