Brassware manufacturer VADO has donated some of its promotional teddy bears to the Neonatal Unit at Colchester General Hospital.

VADO donates to Neonatal unit

Every Christmas morning the staff in the Neonatal unit put out stockings for the babies they have staying in the unit over Christmas. The Neonatal Unit is a level 2 Unit which means it has the facilities to care for sick babies from 28 weeks onwards.

The donation came about after the Senior Sister, Karen Moss, from the Neonatal Unit attended an open evening at Colchester builders merchant Kent Blaxill, where she picked up a VADO teddy. She says: “I was so taken by the cuteness of teddies I thought they would be ideal for the stockings we put out on Christmas morning.”

Sarah Williams, VADO’s managing director, adds: “VADO teddies have always been a great hit at exhibitions and are loved by retailers and their customers alike. This is the first time we have been asked to provide teddies for such a worthwhile cause; we are, of course, delighted to help.”
