UK tradesmen looking for love

Anyone looking for a date this Valentine’s Day should look no further than a construction site, with almost half of UK tradesmen admitting they would accept a date from a customer if they were asked out.
IronmongeryDirect surveyed 1,000 tradesmen for its Valentine’s Day promotion, which also revealed how they like to try and woo their beloveds with a range of gifts and an impressive 93 per cent said they wouldn’t think twice about purchasing a present to mark Valentine’s Day.

The most popular choice was chocolates, with six out of 10 saying they had bought a sweet treat for a significant other. A bunch of flowers was the second most common gift (25 per cent), followed by a romantic night out (10 per cent) and buying expensive lingerie (5 per cent).

Wayne Lysaght-Mason, managing director at IronmongeryDirect, said: “Despite the misconception, tradesmen are a romantic bunch and appear to have no shortage of offers when it comes to Valentine’s Day dates.

“We’re providing our own offer to our loyal customers to help them enjoy Valentine’s Day and given the popularity of chocolates we think they’re the perfect way of celebrating the most romantic day of the year.”

As part of the promotion, anyone who spends more than £50 in one transaction will get a free box of quality chocolates with their order if they order before 8.00pm on 13 January. Customers need to quote CHOCME when they place an order over £50.
