Twyford Bathrooms star on TV

Bathroom manufacturers Twyford are the stars of one episode of a new TV programme, focusing on British manufacturing.
Made in Britain is a primetime programme on the new Blighty TV channel in which comedian Dom Joly strips his home of everything not made in this country. He then takes a tour around the UK to see if it’s possible to replace his foreign made possessions with British made alternatives in a bid to find out what, exactly, is made in Britain today.

In Episode 4, Joly tackles his bathroom, which takes him on a journey to discover the Great British loo.

Twyford Bathrooms give him a tour of the Stoke-on-Trent factory, where he tries his hand at casting, punching, sponging, and spraying – even function testing with the infamous ‘euroturd’.

Mick Moran, head of new business projects, conducted the tour and said: “I hope that people will see the amount of work that goes into producing the humble toilet. I think they will be surprised to see the amount of work that is still done by hand at Twyford Bathrooms to ensure that our WCs are manufactured to the highest standards.”

Made in Britain is on the new Blighty TV channel (Sky 534 or Virgin cable 206) throughout June and July.
