Boiler makers Trianco increased sales to merchant members of the National Merchant Buying Society by over 400% since the beginning of last year.
The push has been mainly down to the company’s Activair air source heat pump, which comes in 3kW and 12kW domestic versions through to 900kW for commercial applications. Installed on an outside wall or in a loft space, the Activair extracts the ambient heat in the air and converts it via a heat exchanger and fan into heat and hot water.
Trianco estimate that this method can be up to 50% cheaper to install than a solar version.
The company’s other products including electric, oil and solid fuel, have also been selling to NMBS members.
