Travis Perkins wins green award

Builders merchant Travis Perkins has won recognition for its environmental credentials at the inaugural Green500 Better Buildings Partnership Awards.

Presented by London Mayor, Boris Johnson, the awards recognise the different initiatives leading London companies have implemented to improve their energy efficiency.

Based on a tiered system, starting at Bronze and working up to Diamond, Travis Perkins has received a Platinum award, acknowledging the changes made to its logistics fleet to improve delivery efficiencies as well its commitment to the recycling of cardboard and plastic.

Jez Cutler, Travis Perkins’ environmental manager, said: “This award is testament to the continued efforts of everyone at Travis Perkins to ensure our businesses operations have minimal impact on the environment and we are delighted that this has been recognised by the Green500.”
