Travis Perkins rejoins Timber Trade Federation

Builders merchant group Travis Perkins will rejoin the Timber Trade Federation in 2010.
Chief operating officer John Carter said: “We have been impressed by the steps taken by the new management to improve the professionalism of the organisation and develop ethical links. Clearly, in current trading conditions, businesses and trade organisations need to work together to ensure a successful future.”

The aim of the Timber Trade Federation is to increase the use of wood through innovative industry representation and grow business support for its members.

John White, chief executive, Timber Trade Federation, said: “With quality companies such as Travis Perkins in membership our ability to offer meaningful industry representation is enhanced enormously. The decision of TP to rejoin also offers a powerful endorsement of the strategy we have embarked upon to grow the use of wood.”
