Travis Perkins gets top employer spot

Builders and plumbers merchant group Travis Perkins has been certified as a 2021 Top Employer for the 12th time.

The accolade follows a rigorous review of the Group’s HR practices by the Top Employers Institute,  a programme which has certified and recognised more than 1 600 Top Employers worldwide.

The review looks at a range of themes; from the work environment for colleagues to recruitment, rewards, training and development, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.

“This recognition is a credit to all of our colleagues who take such pride in our culture and make this a great place to work. It recognises the passion and drive we have for safety and wellbeing, our track record for training and development so that we can retain and attract great talent, and takes into account the exceptional benefits we offer. These include free flu jabs, discount card and smart spending app, and also a financial advice hub and sharesave
scheme, which enable everyone to share in our success. This strong people focus has underpinned our COVID response and helped us work collectively to resolve the many challenges the pandemic has posed for our 28,000+
colleagues in balancing their home and work lives,” says HR Group Director for Travis Perkins, Emma Rose.

Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink says: “Despite the challenging year we have experienced (which has certainly made an impact on organisations around the globe), Travis Perkins has continued to demonstrate the power of putting their people first in the workplace. We are proud to share this year’s announcement and congratulate the organisations who have been certified in their respective countries through the Top Employers Institute programme.”
