Travis Perkins gets Fenland go-ahead

Builders merchant Travis Perkins will get a new branch in Chatteris now that planning permission has been granted.

The plan for the Fenland Way site was given the green light by Fenland Council last Wednesday and developer Harrier Developments is hoping to start work later this year.

The site, currently vacant land, will include both the new Travis Perkins branch and a Tesco store. The aim is to have both open for trading next Spring.

The plan was approved on the basis of several conditions being adhered to by Harrier Developments, including making highway improvements to Fenland Way, building a new roundabout, constructing an underpass under Fenland Way and upgrading street lighting.
