Travis Perkins’ financial director to move on

Paul Hampden Smith is stepping down from his role as group financial director of builders and plumbers merchant group Travis Perkins.

Hampden Smith after 22 years in senior finance roles, Hampden Smith will retire from the board after completion of the annual results exercise next February.

He will continue to work for Travis Perkins for a further 6 months until September 2013, to ensure a smooth and complete handover to his successor.

Robert Walker, chairman of Travis Perkins, said: “Paul Hampden Smith has made a very significant contribution to Travis Perkins over many years and he goes with our very best wishes for the future. Paul has deservedly earned widespread respect, both inside and outside the Company, for his abilities and achievements.”

Hampden Smith said: “I shall be sad to leave behind many excellent colleagues, particularly in our strong finance team, following an enjoyable and challenging 20 year career with Travis Perkins, a company for whom I am immensely proud to have worked.

“I believe the company is well positioned for further growth and success, and I wish all my friends and colleagues best wishes for the future.”
