TP staff get on their bikes for charity

Over six days from September 11 to 16, a team of more than 500 cyclists from Travis Perkins embarked on the Tour de TP a route across South Wales and the South West that visited 128 branches and covered 1,400 miles.

Every South West and Wales Travis Perkins branch did at least one leg ranging from as small as 2 miles to 60 miles between branches.

So far, the target of £50,000 is 82% completed.

Peter West, the manager of the branch in Bridport, led a team who raised £305.

He said: “Coming together as a team for such a good cause has been a brilliant experience.

“We would like to thank all branch colleagues, customers and everyone who donated money to the team. It is a cause that means something to all of us.”

Lisie Beeley, partnership manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “It was a team effort to collectively cycle so many miles to help Macmillan and everyone’s efforts will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.”
