Tour de Jewson 2014 finishes with a flourish

In its fifth year, Tour de Jewson is the biggest annual charity event held by Jewson, which covers 2,500 miles and attracts around two hundred riders every year. The tour starts in six different locations across the UK, stopping at various Jewson branches and customer and supplier premises along the way.

The collaborative event aimed to raise as much money as possible for Jewson’s current charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.

The teams tackled inclement weather, steep gradients and navigational issues to complete the challenge in just 11 days. The weary cyclists finally passed the finish line having raised more than £28,000, with more money still coming in from sponsorship and fundraising at various locations visited by the cyclists during the tour.

Paul Edwards, director of sales at Jewson said: “Tour de Jewson is such a fantastic way of raising money for our charity partner. On behalf of the entire company I would like to issue a big thank you to everyone who has donated, allowing us to raise a significant amount of money for Macmillan. Those who took part dedicated their time, effort and determination to raise money for an extremely worthy cause.”
