Tobermore donates to children's charity

Each December, the County Londonderry-based manufacturer pledges a donation of approximately £20,000 to Barnardo’s in lieu of Christmas presents – a contribution that makes a positive impact to the lives of young children, their families and carers. Support made even more poignant given the increasing hardships faced by families across the UK and Ireland over the last few years as the effects of the recession have taken hold.

David Henderson, Managing Director of Tobermore, said: “We are proud to be able to support the fantastic work of Barnardo’s through our donations. Our company is steeped in family values and we take our social responsibility seriously.”

Charitable giving forms a key part of Tobermore’s CSR commitments. Many of Tobermore’s employees contribute to the payroll giving scheme and participate in an annual charity collection at Christmas, where the money raised is then matched by the company.

The result is donations totalling over £200,000 over the last several years that have assisted both the local community and national organisations.
