Timber frame building site destroyed by fire

More than 50 firefighters were called to a fire at a building site in Salford earlier this month which destroyed a building under construction.

According to masonry news website MasonryFirst, it was a four-storey timber-framed housing development that was under construction.

More than 30 homes had to be evacuated as the blaze took hold.

Last month building insurers called again for a review of the Building Regulations governing timber frame construction and fires.
