Swansea golf day goes a fair-way for Macmillan Cancer Support

The Swansea branch of Selco Builders Warehouse staged its annual golf day at the Gower Golf Club in aid of the company’s nominated charity Macmillan Cancer Support. Over 55 golfers, made up of customers, suppliers and staff, took part in the competition.

This was the fourth Selco Swansea golf day and, in total, the events have raised more than £30,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Across the UK, Selco has collected in excess of £300,000 since becoming its charity partner.

Jason Delaney, trade sales manager of Selco Swansea said: “I am delighted with the way it went. The weather was excellent and it was a brilliant day. We are all very proud of the money we raised this year and continuing our commitment to supporting Macmillan.

“We had fantastic support from our customers, staff and suppliers and without those people we wouldn’t have been able to raise the type of money we have for Macmillan. It will make a real difference to what is a fantastic charity. The golf day has become a landmark date in our diary each year and hopefully that will continue.”

Golfers did battle for a host of honours, including a team award, nearest the pin and longest drive. Money was raised via entry fees, donations on the day, hole sponsorships, a raffle and an auction.
