Michelmersh Brick Holdings Plc collected four of the fifteen awards at this year’s Brick Awards, held at The Hilton in London.
They won ‘Best Refurbishment Project’ and ‘Best Public & Education Building’ for the Richmond Adult Community College. The buildings within the collage were designed using a softly textured brick skin of Charnwood Handmade Horsham Red and Freshfield Lane Machine Made First Quality bricks.
They also won ‘Best Urban Regeneration Project’ for the redevelopment of the Heygate Estate. The design uses a combination of Freshfield Lane Machine Made Danehill Yellow, Selected Light, First Quality and Anthracite bricks built by Lee Marley Brickwork Ltd.
Lastly, Eight Artillery Row was presented with the ‘BDA Chairman’s Award’, designed with a Charnwood bespoke brick blend, introduced to draw from the fine examples of historic buildings within the nearby Westminster Cathedral Conservation Area.
Frank Hanna, MBH group commercial director, said: “We are extremely proud to receive such recognition across a wide range of technical, craft, and building categories.
“These recognised awards are testament to our workforce’s commitment to maintaining our high standards of products, customer service and unrivalled attention to detail. All these attributes combine to make our bespoke products the choice materials of acclaimed and renowned architects across the UK.”
