Evan Kelly, 11, is competing in the WKC World Championships in Dublin this month, and STS has supplied his protective gear and England kit for his fights.

Evan, from Netherton, trains at the Paradigm Martial Arts Centre in Maghull, and will be taking part in the under 35kg Continuous Fighting Section.

He said: “I love the kit that Sovini Trade Supplies have given to me – it looks boss! When I got the kit it made Dublin even more real, so I’m really excited now and a little bit nervous.

“I’d love to come placed in the competition, but my aim is to just do my best – and hopefully be World Champion!”

Evan started kickboxing when he was just four years old, after being introduced to the sport by his father Barry who used to kickbox himself.

Barry said: “Evan took to kickboxing like a fish to water and has loved every minute of it.

“We’re so thankful to Sovini Trade Supplies for providing us with the kit – it’s great to have this support from a local business.”

Sovini Trade Supplies is unlike most businesses of its kind, with all elements of the business, from sourcing and purchasing, to supplying and serving, centred on the desire to do social good.

As part of the philanthropic Sovini Group, capacity generated by Sovini Trade Supplies is reinvested in the group’s non-profit social housing partners, supporting their investment in new homes and developing the local communities.

Anita Harrison-Carroll, Director of Sovini Trade Supplies, said: “When we were approached to support Evan in his kickboxing journey, we jumped at the chance.

“Our philosophy is centred on doing social good and giving back to the communities we work in, so what better way to do that than to support a local boy who will be representing Sefton on the world stage!

“To be part of the England team travelling to Dublin is a fantastic achievement and we’re all rooting for Evan.”

Sovini Group partners include One Vision Housing, Pine Court Housing Association, Sovini Property Services and Sovini Homes.
