Snows increases Mansfield hours to meet demand

Four months in from its management buyout, national timber distributor Snows Timber has increased its operational hours at its Mansfield primary distribution hub to pick and mill more products, via a new shift pattern where the team start earlier and finish later.

The changes mean increased the capacity to pick and mill more orders, meaning staff  can turn them orders around on shorter lead times.

The company says that, although there will be a period of catching up with current high demand, the benefit of these changes should be felt by customers by the end of the year when product availability and delivery improve.

Snows Timber comprises of three sites in Andover, Mansfield, and the head office in Towcester. The Mansfield Distribution Centre is the primary production hub, meaning that all of Snows Timber’s machined products are milled through this site.
