Six new Buildbase branches

Buildbase added six new branches during November and December 2007 increasing the network to a total of 143 sites, and plans are afoot for more in 2008.
In November the two branches of Argyll Building Supplies in Argyll and the Isle of Islay were acquired. This was followed in December by R Timber of Arbroath joining Buildbase, as well as Michael Hunter Sons which trades from two locations in Ormskirk and Birkdale in Lancashire.

Buildbase acquired CTS Building Services, a one-branch merchant in Diss, Norfolk, later in the month.

The company is also preparing to open a new branch in Basingstoke in February. Following shortly afterwards will be new Buildbase branches in Harlow and Norfolk and major improvements at the Gulson Road branch in Coventry are nearing completion.

“We are pleased to welcome all the new people who are joining Buildbase,” says chief exec Kevin Middleton. “We are continuing to extend our network of branches to serve new areas of the UK and we expect there will be more new announcements throughout 2008.”
