Sika shortlisted for Quality Team of the Year Award

Sika has been shortlisted for the Quality Team of the Year Award at the International Quality Awards which is due to take place on June 23.

Spanning eight major categories and now in its fifth year, the International Quality Awards are designed to recognise and reward the contribution of quality professionals, teams and entire organisations across the globe. In a competitive field of entries, the shortlist for Quality Team of the Year award saw the Sika team in Leeds recognised for proactive approach to quality and the guidance and support on new systems.

Sika was able to demonstrate how its Leeds’ team has developed their core skills into a cohesive modern quality department focusing on the transition to Quality 4.0. The team also engaged with all areas of the business to support and lead continuous improvement using six sigma and analytical tools to improve efficiency internally. This is coupled with measuring the success with its customers by seeing a 75% drop in complaints.

John Peers, head of quality, Sika UK and Ireland said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for these awards. Successful teams don’t happen overnight and are generally built over several years. The team in Leeds are pioneering an approach to quality and we look forward to this model being rolled out across all of Sika’s UK production sites.”
