SIG Roofing, part of SIG plc has bought SM Roofing Supplies. It will continue to trade under its existing brand but with the full backing of SIG Roofing’s national supply network.

First established in 1993, SM Roofing Supplies employs 11 staff and operates from a site in Pelsall, Walsall. The acquisition fills a gap in SIG Roofing’s coverage in the West Midlands, expanding its service capabilities to roofing contractors across the region.

Philip Johns, Managing Director of SIG UK, said: “As a business we have been closely following SM Roofing Supplies impressive growth across the past decade, and recognise them as one of the most respected roofing supply specialists. That’s why we are so delighted to welcome them to the SIG Roofing family. With a reputation for customer service excellence, we are sure that SM Roofing Supplies team will help us further enhance our offering to roofing contractors nationwide.”

“Indeed, the acquisition serves as further testament to our commitment to supporting the roofing industry. This year has certainly had more than its fair share of uncertainty, but via our new partnership with SM Roofing Supplies, we are seeking to provide renewed confidence to the wider roofing industry as we head towards 2021.”

In August, SIG Roofing invested in a brand new Delivery Tracking System (DTS), which provides customers with complete visibility of their deliveries – from initial order right through to final delivery. At the point of order, customers are simply required to provide SIG Roofing with their contact details; the business will then keep them informed every step of the way, including live updates as to when their order is going to arrive, to when it has been safely delivered to site.
