SIG bring five companies together

SIG have brought together five of their brands to form a new company, launched on October 1, to provide merchants and major contractors with a wider than ever range of ancillary construction products.

SIG bring five companies together

SIG Construction Accessories brings together Support Site, Pre Pour, Build Span, BBM, and Blue Print, all of which sell specialised construction ancillary products from reinforced mesh to wall ties, groundworks and construction chemicals, across 24 branches. Managing director David Hope, who moves from elsewhere in the group, says this will give merchant customers access to a far wider range of products and an improved customer service.

“One of the benefits of bringing the companies together will be a standardised customer service. One of the businesses had a very strong customer service offer with a 5.30pm cut-off for next day delivery; we plan to bring this in across all the branches,” he told buildersmerchantsjournal.net.

There are other benefits too, Hope continued. “Customers would often get four separate invoices from four separate branches. Now they will have just one, which will simplify matters for them and for us.”

The company will be bringing together all the products into one catalogue which Hope says will be “as thick as the Yellow Pages”, but they will also be available via the interactive website.
