Selco continues branch network expansion

Selco is set for a busy conclusion to 2015 after revealing it will open three new branches before the end of the year.

Selco continues branch network expansion

The new branches due to be created in Southampton, New Southgate, and Weybridge. While Southampton represents a new geographic location for Selco, the branches in New Southgate and Weybridge strengthens the company’s presence in London.

Chris Cunliffe, Selco Builders Warehouse chief executive, said: “We set ourselves a target in 2015 of trying to double the size of the business within five years, and these new openings are further steps towards achieving that.

“The branches at New Southgate and Weybridge will provide yet more opportunities for us to service our customers in and around the M25.

“The Southampton branch is a little different because it’s a new area for us but it’s another small step towards us trying to get a branch in every major UK town and city.”

Selco branches in England and Wales supply a massive range of building materials including doors, windows, insulation, roofing, heating, plumbing supplies, lighting, electrical products, kitchens, bathrooms and timber.

Tool and plant hire is also available across 24 London branches, Nottingham, and Coventry, and will be available in the three new branches.

Cunliffe concluded: “As we continue to grow and develop and work towards our target of doubling the size of the business, the good news for the economy is that it will see our current workforce double in size over this period to 4,000 employees.

“That is a significant number and, as well as providing the best possible service to our customers, is the major driving factor behind us keeping the Selco impetus going.”
