Scott Parnell Witham raise thousands for charity

Three employees from Scott Parnell Witham – the civils and drainage supplies specialist – have raised £3,700 for the Alzheimer’s Society following a 27-mile marathon walk.

Leah O’Sullivan, along with colleagues Helen Oberholzer and Amy Christie, and her dad John O’Sullivan and brother Jody O’Sullivan, took on the challenge. The walking route included iconic London sites Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament and the Tate Modern.

As well as raising £1,850 via their JustGiving page, Scott Parnell doubled the fundraising figure taking the total raised to £3,700.

Commenting on their achievement, Leah said:

“My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s around five years ago when she was only 60. Many people don’t realise that Alzheimer’s can occur at quite a young age. She’s 65 now, in a home full time and unable to walk so the charity and the work it does for those living with this condition is really close to my heart. The walk was something I wanted to do for my mum and to raise money to help others going through a similar experience to my family. The walk was really tough at times, but we kept each other going and we were so delighted when we crossed the finish line.”
