SCA takes builders merchants on timber visit

Timber supplier SCA Timber took its training course graduates from builders merchants on a trip to Sweden to see first-hand what they had learned on the course.

Participants included four from Chandlers Building Supplies in Sussex, plus the two winners of the 2009 annual Timber Career Development Awards, sponsored by SCA: Sarah Broadley of Jewson and Shaun Smith of West Port Windows,

The trip consolidated knowledge gained on SCA’s Wood Technology

Society course, and recognised the special training achievements of the two industry award-winners. They visited SCA Tunadal spruce sawmill, the company’s FSC-certified forests, and SCA Bogrundet tree nursery, where the company grows over 80 million new trees each year for re-stocking the forests.
