A team of 15, which includes managing director Andrew Hayward, are aiming to raise £600 for the charity, which includes a 50% contribution from Russell Roof Tiles if they all hit their target.

The slimmers will be weighing themselves weekly and going into the office every third week to check and make sure the loss is sensible and controlled.

The team intend to collectively lose 12st 7lbs, which is approximately 60 of the company’s concrete plain tiles – enough to cover 1 sq m. The team have until July 3rd to hit their target.

Hayward says: “It’s great to get the team together to fundraise. We thought burning off those few extra pounds would be a great way to raise money and promote a healthier team, making sure they are fighting fit.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is one of two charities that have been chosen by Russell Roof tiles for fundraising activities throughout our anniversary year. One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, and many of our staff have been touched by the disease. Macmillan does a lot to help those affected.”
