Independent builders merchant Rudridge sponsored a valued customer in his bid to raise money for a charity close to his heart by completing the Bournemouth Half Marathon.
On Sunday 5th October, Scott Steel of KAMM Civil Engineering Ltd, took on the 13 miles in aid of Harrison’s Trust Fund.
Steel, 40, from Bournemouth, has so far raised £2,110, all of which will be donated to his chosen charity, set up to help six-year-old Harrison Dilling.
Harrison suffers from incurable spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy and will never be able to sit, walk or talk unaided.
Steel said: “I’m not a particularly enthusiastic runner and I found the Bournemouth Half Marathon a tough challenge. When I heard about Harrison’s Trust, I just knew I had to help, my dislike for running then didn’t seem to matter anymore.
“I’ve been humbled by everyone’s generosity, the funds raised will have a huge impact on Harrison’s life. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and donated so generously.”
Darren Price, business development manager at Rudridge, said: “We value all our clients and customers and when we hear about any wonderful charity fundraising they are taking part in, we try where we can to be a part of it and show our support with donations.
“Well done to Scott for taking on the Bournemouth Half Marathon and for raising such a fantastic sum of money for Harrison’s Trust Fund.”
