This Saturday (July 2), a team of 20 builders merchants are taking on the 2016 Tour de Robert Price Duathlon.
The Welsh builders merchant’s 2016 Charity Challenge will see the team walking and cycling round the branches across South Wales.
The 50 mile route takes in the Brecon Beacons and Cardiff Bay and the aim is to complete it in under 12 hours.
This year’s event sees the team walk from the Robert Price branch in Brecon to the branch in Merthyr Tydfil, via the summit of Pen-Y-Fan, the highest peak in Southern Britain. But that’s not all… At Robert Price Merthyr, the team will be jumping on their bikes and riding the Taff Trail passing Robert Price, Taffs Well, through Cardiff and on to Cardiff Bay, adding a further 30 miles to give an overall challenge distance of 50 miles.
There are 10 staff in the full challenge team and a further 10 joining sections in support.
Monies raised will be donated to Robert Price’s chosen charities:
Torfaen Mind – Local to the Torfaen & Blaenau Gwent area, affiliated to National Mind, the leading Mental Health Charity in England & Wales.
Cancer Research Wales – Money raised for Cancer Research Wales goes to clinical and laboratory based cancer research in universities and hospitals across Wales.
