Ridgeons shortlisted for Private Business Awards 2014

Independent timber and builders’ merchant Ridgeons has been shortlisted in the Family Business of the Year category of the fourth annual Private Business Awards, sponsored by PwC.
Established in 1911 by founding family member Cyril Ridgeon the company is now one of the UK’s largest independent merchants, operating 25 branches across the East of England.

Ridgeons’ managing director, Angela Rushforth, said: “As a finalist we have been drawn from over 1,000 entries from a mix of UK private businesses up and down the country.”

Currently two generations, of the founding family, are actively involved with the business, with six family members on the board and three closely engaged with the executive team.

Winners of the Private Business Awards 2014 will be announced at a celebration dinner on 10 September 2014 at The Guildhall, London.
