East Anglia independent timber and builders’ merchant Ridgeons has been named as one of the top 15 most influential businesses in and around Cambridge.
In celebration of Cambridge News’ 125th anniversary, the newspaper hosted a special event to recognise the most influential businesses, one of which was Ridgeons.
Founded in 1911 by Cyril Ridgeon, the company started trading from the back-room of his home in the city-centre before moving to a one and a half acre site on Tenison Road in Cambridge. It now has 25 branches throughout East Anglia.
The company’s values remain core to its business strategy with a strong commitment to being first choice for customers, suppliers and employees and a valued member of the community.
Ridgeons’ managing director Angela Rushforth said: “We are honoured to have been named as one of the most influential businesses in Cambridge and to join such a revered group of businesses from a variety of industries.”
