Ridgeons help TV’s Tommy Walsh in eco build

A new TV program will see celebrity builder Tommy Walsh take on the challenge of constructing an eco-friendly house for only £60,000 in just 60 days, and Ridgeons was on hand to help as a supplier of building materials.

Ridgeons help TV's Tommy Walsh in eco build

The TV series, called ‘Tommy Walsh’s Eco House’ starts on October 3 on Discovery Real Time and centres around a project, located in March, Cambridgeshire, which was completed in July.

Ridgeons have had a presence in March since 1946 and so were an obvious choice to supply building materials to the site.

“Tommy has been to our March branch a number of times,” said branch manager David Galloway. “On the first occasion he even brought his film crew to film materials being loaded onto his vehicle in the yard. He also filmed around our builders merchants counter.”

David continued, “Tommy appeared to be impressed by our stocks and knowledgeable service, and his team have opened an account with us. Also, he likes the family aspect of the Ridgeons’ business and feels strongly about our independence.”
