The team of eight, who called themselves the ‘Ridgeon Walkers’, completed the 24 miles of the challenge in just 10 hours and 45 minutes, beating their original target of 12 hours. The money raised will be split between Cancer Research UK and East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The team set off from the Pen-y-Ghent café to conquer Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough peaks and took in some spectacular views en route. On the second peak, the team bumped into famous mountaineer Chris Bonington, who confirmed he was only taking on two of the peaks with his group.

All participants will receive a certificate and have been made members of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Members Club.
