Independent south west builders merchant RGB has used Polypal racking and display systems at its new branch in Exmouth.
The idea was to get as wide a range of products as possible on display and in stock.
The company also extended the existing storage area by around a third with the additional installation of a covered storage facility.
There is now back-to-back racking across three aisles with further multi-level bays running the full length of a side wall and a dedicated bulk stock storage area opposite. Individual bays provide up to three levels of storage as standard and up to 11 depending on the dimensions of the product.
“In the new covered area, cantilever racking has been installed in the two side wings, with A-frame storage available in the centre,” says RGB’s Manager Geoff Dobbs.
“In each case, the focus is on storage of timber and sheet materials, so optimising accessibility and versatility were, again, the key objectives behind the layout’s design.”
John Drake, business development manager at Polypal says that the objective to accommodate as many product types as possible applied to the warehouse and the new covered area, as well as the trade counter area, where there is a gondola-based display system to optimise the available space.
“We are delighted that this represents another successful installation for RGB as it grows and are confident that it will help the organisation maximise its potential within the Exmouth area,” he says.
