PTS team climbs for charity

A team from plumbers merchant Plumbing Trade Supplies in Aberdeen has hiked to the top of one of the highest mountains in Scotland, raising nearly £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

It took more than seven hours to tackle one of the hardest treks offered by the legendary Scottish Munros. Lochnagar sits 3789 feet above sea level and is well known for its steep cliffs.

Jim Ross, PTS Aberdeen branch manager said: “We knew this hike would be a challenge for all of us. It became increasingly difficult the higher we cimbed but we are very proud to have raised almost £1000 for PTS’ chosen charity, Cancer Research UK. Knowing that we were raising such vital funds kept us going towards the end when the blisters had started to really set in.”

The Munros are a collection of 283 mountain tops, the most famous being Ben Nevis. Each trek poses challenging conditions for even the most experienced climbers.
