Plumbers merchant chain PTS has taken on the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (CFT) as its nominated charity following a two year findraising stint for the NSPCC which raised a whopping £40,000.

Branches will be raising money and awareness of Cystic Fibrosis by taking part in a variety of challenges and events throughout the year. Collection tins and leaflets are already in PTS’ 300 plus branches to encourage customers to donate as much as possible.
Kelvin Stevens, PTS managing director, said: “Our staff have achieved wonderful results for the NSPCC over the last couple of years and we really hope our funds can make a difference. We are now working to support the CFT as we were shocked by the seriousness and yet relatively unknown nature of this illness. Not many people know the reality that this debilitating condition can have on young lives so we want to lend our support wherever we can.”
Cystic fibrosis is one of the UK’s most common, life-threatening, inherited diseases which affects over 8,500 people in the country. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK’s only national charity dedicated to supporting the treatment of cystic fibrosis and also funding the research into finding a cure.
