PTS partnered with Age Concern in April 2006, pledging to raise £150,000 through the Winter Warmth Campaign. Fundraising activities ranged from doughnut eating competitions to hiking, canoeing and biking for the Grizedale Challenge. The latter raising an impressive £75,000 alone.

PTS managing director Alan Ball said: “All of our staff throughout our branches and at head office made a massive contribution to what has been a very strong and positive relationship with Age Concern. Raising over £20,000 more than we aimed for is fantastic for such a worthy cause and we hope that a real difference can be made through our efforts.”

PTS will now turn their attention to the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
