Polypipe Sanitary Systems have been the subject of a successful management buyout by their previous owners, the Polypipe Group. The deal became effective on January 30.

An executive management team headed by former md Brian Watson will run the company. The purchase includes the existing operations at Dukinfield in Manchester, Warmsworth in Yorkshire, and Pan Yu in China. It also incorporates the three Polypipe Sanitary Systems brands: Celmac toilet seats, Macdee flushing systems and Ecoplay micro greywater management systems.

“This is an excellent time for us to take control of the business,” said Mr Watson. “While we want our customers to be completely assured that everything will continue as normal from their point of view, this move represents a tremendous opportunity for us to move the business onto the next level.”

The company will continue under the Polypipe Sanitary Systems name for a limited period, before phasing in a new identity as CME Sanitary Systems to reflect the business’ three brands.
