Independent builders merchant buying group IBC has named International Plywood Importers Ltd (Panel Supplies Ltd) as the winner of its first ever Supplier of the Year award.
The buying group, which launched the award in May last year, agreed on the judging criteria to be a mix of growth, pro-activity and member satisfaction over a 12 month period.
John Brett, sales & operations director, said: “We have seen International Plywood work closely with our members to help show them better savings as well as an improved service. Their sales team have developed close relationships with both our members and the IBC team. They continue to apply themselves to growth in the market and within our membership, and it’s for these reasons they have won this year’s award.”
OX Group, manufacturer of tools, were named as runners up after seeing sales grow due to their “innovative and fresh marketing approach”.
IBC also announced that the Salesperson of the Year has been awarded to Lafarge Tarmac’s Nathan Roberts with Castacrete’s Neil Finn coming second.
Marc Coulson, national sales manager for IBC, said: “Nathan has shown his desire to not only help Lafarge Tarmac grow their business, but also his eagerness to help IBC members increase their sales. He has represented not only Lafarge Tarmac but IBC with an admirable amount of integrity and passion and we look forward to continuing to work with him over the years ahead.”
