On July 18 the team will undertake an arduous 70 mile bike ride through the Derbyshire Peak District.

The ten hour bike ride will see the team travel up through the Tissington Trail from Ashbourne to Buxton before heading along the High Peak Trail to the finishing halfway mark near Matlock on the A6. They will then do it all in reverse to get to the finishing line back in Ashbourne.

The same team has already raised £7,000 for NSPCC by walking 25 miles in 2008 and climbing Mount Snowdon in 2009. They hope to hit the £10,000 mark with the Derbyshire trek.

PTS branch manager Mark Wallis said: “This will be the first time I’ve been on a bike for more than a mile in over 25 years, let alone 70 miles in one day! We’ve been training twice a week, so fingers crossed we’ll make the finish line in good time.”
