Plumbase opens first green credentials branch

The chain’s 189th branch is at Unit 1 on Sutton’s Wealdstone Road trading estate. The purpose-built branch has a number of unusual green features including a roof and wall covered in plants. Both the roof and wall are designed to encourage the return of the wildlife that once inhabited the locality, as are bird posts and stone piles positioned around the site.

The branch features a Time & Temperature spares service for same or next day delivery and the large 5,200 sq ft premises has a self-select sales area and trade counter and four staff, two of whom have are new to the business.

Manager Dean Ives has managed Plumbase at Kingston for the last five years. The assistant manager is Mark Freer.
