Plumbers merchant Plumbase has joined its sister company builders merchant Buildbase, to sponsor the away shirts of Oxford United Football Club.
Both companies are part of Grafton Group, the Irish merchanting chain. Buildbase has been sponsoring OUFC since 2001.
Plumbase managing director, Tom McElkerney, said: “This is a good marketing opportunity for us. The Plumbase name will be seen by all those watching Oxford United’s away games where the change strip is worn.
“The U’s had a great end to the season and, on recent form, are one of the strongest side in the division. Like our colleagues at Buildbase, we hope our support will give them an extra boost to gain promotion in the coming season. We’re excited to be supporting a team on the up.”
The Plumbase away kit will be unveiled shortly. The first away match is an evening fixture at Kettering on 11 August.
