Plumb Center welcomes Help To Buy impact

The company, part of Wolseley UK, expects to see a growth in sales of bathroom products over the next few months, thanks to the second phase of Help To Buy which was rolled out in October 2013.

The second phase of the scheme covers existing housing stock, which means it is no longer buyers of only new build properties who can benefit from the scheme.

Julie McLean, Plumb Center’s head of marketing, said: “We welcome the Help To Buy initiative and hope that installers will swiftly start seeing its effects in increased sales.”

Although the number of people moving house is currently just over half of the 155,000 per month at the pre-recession peak, Help To Buy is forecast to stimulate a rise to around 120,000 per month next year.
