Plumb Center targeted by boiler thieves

Thieves stole £67,000 of boilers when they broke into a branch of plumbers merchant Plumb Center last week.
The gang broke into the Wolseley-owned Plumb Center branch in Trafford Park, Manchester, sometime between 12.30am on Saturday, May 30 and 6.30am on Monday, June 1.

They got away with 40 Vaillant EcoTec boilers, worth around £48,190, a Potterton Pro-max 28 boiler worth £7,186, a Potterton Promax 33 boiler worth £3,770, a Vaillant Aurostore cylinder costing £720 and copper piping worth £7,680.

They also made their getaway in one of the firms Leyland DAF vans.

Detective Constable Patrick Wood, from Trafford CID, said: “Someone will now be trying to offload the boilers so I would urge anyone who is approached, especially those in the plumbing business, to be mindful of this crime and call police if you have any information or suspicions about who is responsible”.

Anyone with information is asked to call Trafford CID on 0161 856 8314, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
